Leverage the Vendor Accountability Database for your next vendor RFI/RFP
The Vendor Accountability Database is a valuable resource for shortening your shopping process and can help you make informed purchasing decisions. In 2022, the Alliance launched the Vendor Accountability Initiative, collecting comprehensive vendor data across all Alliance members. The resulting Vendor Accountability Database currently contains more than 900 vendors across 17 categories of health plan operations and 121 functional areas.
The Vendor Accountability Database not only increases Alliance members' efficiency and speed at processing new vendor requests for information (RFI) and requests for proposal (RFP); it also allows the Alliance to identify health plans on similar purchasing cycles so, working together, we can potentially negotiate better contract rates.
Access the Vendor Accountability Database
Type the name of a vendor company into the keyword search field on our Alliance Member Directory search, then click search, and you'll see a list of Alliance member health plans that use that particular vendor.
The current print Company Profiles includes a list of each Alliance member health plan's vendors by operational category and functional area. Quickly access a list of vendors Alliance members are currently using for a particular service.
Email Mallory Willett, Alliance Data Management and Operations Specialist, for a tailored list of solutions and health plan contacts who can share their vendor experience with you.
How you can help maintain the Vendor Accountability Database
We know your vendor relationships are continuously changing and growing. The Alliance is committed to maintaining and keeping this valuable resource up to date. You can email Mallory Willett to confirm your organization's dedicated project contact and ensure your organization is actively keeping your information current. You can find the resources we shared with last year's Vendor Accountability Initiative data collection team below in our Vendor Accountability Initiative Toolkit.
About the data collection process
Each Alliance health plan member is asked to respond to a survey that collects vendors used and other information about the vendor experience including services provided by the vendor, buying cycle, rating (would you recommend), and spending amount. It is not a small task for health plans to provide this information and keep us informed of changes, but the value to each Alliance member health plan far outweighs the effort of providing this input.

This session updates you on our progress and provides VALUABLE insights regarding vendor management decisions for member health plans. We have been missing opportunities to help our members be more effective, more informed buyers of services because we don't have current information on vendor performance and member buying intentions. Our vision is to develop a tool to aid our members with purchasing and vendor management efforts.
