Health Plan Alliance welcomes two new members: FirstCare Health Plans and Healthy State

On Thursday, April 6, 2017, the Health Plan Alliance Board of Directors approved the membership of FirstCare Health Plans and Healthy State. FirstCare Health Plans is now one of five health plan members located in Texas and Healthy State is one of two health plan members in North Carolina. The Health Plan Alliance is also pleased to announce that Healthy State will host the Fall Leadership Value Visit, September 26-28 in their hometown of Asheville, NC.
Several members from both organizations were in attendance at the Alliance Spring Leadership Value Visit in Southlake, TX where they were able to meet with a number of their peers. "The Alliance is pleased to have these two organizations as members. Their thought leaders will undoubtedly contribute to the collaboration at Value Visits and online through Alliance webinars, knowledge center and discussion forums. We also look forward to supporting their strategic objectives and helping them grow in their markets," said Dennis Bolin, Health Plan Alliance Chief Experience Officer. FirstCare operates in the west and panhandle of Texas. The health plan started in 1995 and is headquartered in Austin, TX. The plan is owned by Covenant Health and Hendrick Health System. It covers approximately 172,000 lives and offers Commercial, Individual, Medicaid and ASO products.
About Healthy State
Healthy State is a start-up plan in North Carolina. They are owned by Mission Health System and are currently operating under FirstCarolinaCare. They will go to market as Healthy State in the next 12-24 months offering a Medicare Advantage/ACO and an ASO product.
