Avoiding every health plan's worst nightmares
Kristin Rodriguez, Health Plan Alliance
09/06/2018
The Health Plan Alliance convened leaders in Enterprise Risk Management, Compliance, Privacy and Information Security this August in San Francisco to tackle some of the toughest topics in health care. Ironically, these topics are often discussed the least, probably because they don’t exactly capture the imagination—and yet these same issues become the stuff of nightmares when not executed competently by health plans. Below we’ve compiled the case studies and subject matter experts’ presentations across the event’s three themes.
Enterprise Risk Management
Presentation: Enterprise risk management 2.0—Beyond the basics
Ankura Consulting shares best practices and solutions for challenging elements of interest to plans with solid existing ERM programs.
Presentation: Continuity Planning 2.0
Western Health Advantage with Avalution examine emerging best practices that Alliance members can take into account when reviewing and updating their own continuity plans.
Presentation: Risk-Based Security
Change Healthcare explores an organizational approach to risk-based security, a mindset in which the organization purposely identifies which risks are acceptable, and when a risk must be stopped, controlled, or transferred.
Presentation: Risk Management Survey and Working Group
EBG presents results of an Alliance survey on health plans' enterprise risk management programs. Topics cover competencies related to mitigating the risks facing managed care organizations.
Operationalizing a secure and compliant culture
